you can tell straight away from the huge amounts of stray pencils and eraser streaks that this page went through a LOT of re-sketching. i'm still not happy with the final version, but sometimes it happens. a page just doesn't want to cooperate.

kyo's head and eyes were redrawn about 400 times in panel four, and still look lousy in the final. blarg.

the last panel you can see how i was sketching different positions for ruri's ears. i originally thought i'd have them back, to exaggerate her sympathy. but then i realized that at this exact moment ruri would be more intruiged and interested than sympathetic. she is a doctor, after all.

lot of repetitive facial positioning on this page, really bugs me.

there were also originally a lot more speech balloons but i trimmed it down since this page really is supposed to just be a realization-of-plot-upside-your-head

That is the note Jet found in his pocket that states Kyo's parents worked on the "Inhuman project" right?

it was just in the pocket of the jacket. he never KNEW it was there...the jacket's original owner put it there.

you may think it's unlikely, but a military surpluss jacket i bought once had cigarette butts in the pocket. so it's not too unlikely...

It's like a used car then! ... only a jacket. I think there were used cigarretes in one car we got. Also japanese coins I think too.

haha it gets a bit more explaining on the next page. there was just no effective way to drop that bomb AND explain it in one page without cluttering it full of speech bubbles
